The homes have wheelchair-friendly access, widened doors, kitchens with adjustable worktops, wet rooms and space for a through-floor lift. Longhurst Group worked with specialist Invisible Creations to future proof the homes, with discreet dual purpose aids that can be adapted to support residents as they get older, allowing them to live independently, for longer.
Marcus Keys, Longhurst Group Executive Director of Growth and Development (centre) said: “We are committed to providing the types of homes people need, to be able to live their daily lives as easily as possible. These homes will be of huge benefit to the families who move in.”
Longhurst Group also recently signed up to Harry’s Pledge which includes a promise to build more fully-accessible homes and improve the support available to carers from employers.
