Transformation of an old store into a bike shed at Steve Woolley Court in Peterborough is helping residents get more active and improve their health and wellbeing.
“This is certainly going to get more residents cycling,” said Peterborough Scheme Officer Ruth Newton. “Residents have been mentioning that they wanted to buy a bike, or dust-off one stored elsewhere, but the lack of a suitable and secure storage facility was preventing them from riding more regularly.”
Stock investment contractor Bell Group was happy to step in and provide a great solution to the problem – at no extra cost to residents or to Hyde – as part of its commitment to adding social value through its work with us.
In the true spirit of upcycling, Bell Group transformed a disused store on the estate into a secure bike shed, complete with bike racks, locks, a fresh coat of paint and security lighting.
Rosanna Giarraputo, Community Engagement Coordinator for Bell Group, said: “It was a pleasure to create the bike shed. We are dedicated to delivering social value because we know the positive impact it generates for local people and places.”
